Helicopters: Loving and Permissive
Drill Sergeants: Firm and Hostile
Consultants: Loving and firm-empower their children to take responsibility for their decisions.
3-Allow “affordable” consequences for their good.
4-Spend 20 minutes/day with your child doing something they would like to do.
5-Repeat what is said without judgement/Listen for the feelings behind the words/Reflect back what the child is saying.
6-Help find their purpose by doing the following:
Talk about what gives you a sense of purpose.
Ask them questions.
Provide support.
Emphasize their impact.
Create a purpose chart.
7-Teach them skills, give them GUTS (Great Under Trials and Stress)
8-Mentally strong kids get adequate protein, go for high-quality calories, eat often to balance blood sugar levels, avoid sugar and artificial sweeteners, stay hydrated, eat healthy fats, take vitamins, and avoid food additives/pesticides.
9-Play hard, rest well.
10-If nothing is working, look for underlying biological conditions or brain health issues.
