Did you know there is a King Tut exhibit at the Biltmore this summer and kids under 10 get in for free?
Our school studies Egypt in 2nd grade so my 8 and 9 year olds were very into it and surprisingly all 3 kids were very captivated by the tour of the Biltmore and Gardens. They had these little handheld recorders to narrate your tour that helped keep everyone engaged.

It was incredibly well done and kept them delightfully engaged.

The conservatory was BREATHTAKING!

And the mountain views were captivating.

The Biltmore tour kids' audio was narrated by a dog and my kids ate that with a spoon!

The gardens were an amazing place to let them explore.

New life goal unlocked: live in a home with a library! (bonus points if it needs a ladder, a la the best princess Belle)

One unexpected blessing of Chad's lay off is these extra days with Dad!

For a boy who just finished the Magic Treehouse Book about King Tut-this was MINDBLOWING.

The loved exploring all the hidden areas of the Biltmore Estate.

This place was BEAUTIFUL.

Unanimously their favorite part was the indoor pool.

Honestly my amazing husband is the road trip MVP and I’m the passenger princess 😆 There was a camp group there just before us in the line to get a sweet treat and they accidentally bought too many and graciously gave the extras to my people 💙 I told them to taste and see that the Lord is good and my girl said, “the Israelites got manna and we got upgraded to ICE CREAM” 😆both are sweet examples of the God who provides!

We are big road trippers and here are some of our road trip MVPS
1-Snacks and more snacks and packing lunches to save our trip budget for more fun things.(I love these clamshell sandwich containers and the tri-level snack keepers)
2-Border bags-when we pass into a new state or country we swap our bags. This trip we brought magnatiles, plus plus blocks and coloring books and it kept the kids happy and entertained.
3-Free audiobooks downloaded from Libby (this trip was How To Train Your Dragon)
4-Let them run and feed them often
